“Six Pack Abs” Don’t Mean You’re Healthy!
December 21, 2024When it comes to being healthy, the people that are in good health do not confuse their physique or aesthetics for their health. Just because someone walks around with six pack abs and appreciable muscle mass, doesn’t mean that they live a healthy lifestyle. If that same person had yellow eyes, brittle nails, or their hair was falling out; you wouldn’t consider them to be “healthy” even though they have an impressive physique
On the other hand, if someone is slightly higher body fat percentage but they take care of themselves in terms of building muscle, their cardiovascular health, and they have no real deficits to speak of, you would likely consider them to be the healthier individual despite not having a six pack.
While your body fat percentage levels are a good indicator of health, they are not the only metric you can look at and if it is, you need to reevaluate how you determine good health.
