Bulgarian Split Squat: Quads vs Glutes & Hamstrings (read more in description!)
October 27, 2024Ahh the Bulgarian split squat – the exercise we all love to hate! There are some very minor tweaks you can make to this move that will help target the glutes & hamstrings or you can make adjustments so that the focus is more on the quads. What you choose will depend on your personal preferences and goals. Give them both a try!
🍑 Glute & Hamstring Focus
– Use a wider stance
– Hinge forward slightly from the waist
– Keep the knee stacked over the foot
– Drive your hips down and back as you lower
– Push the hips forward as you raise and squeeze the glutes at the top
🔥 Quad Focus
– Closer stance
– Keep torso more upright
– Drive knee towards toe as you lower
– Lower the hips straight down and back up
